FLY FISHING AT ONNY VALE

There are 3 spring fed trout fly fishing pools stocked with Rainbows, Blues & Browns.

THE BOTTOM POOL is just over an acre in size. The depth varies between 6 - 15 feet (2 - 5 metres). It is spring fed and has a clay bottom and a small island in the middle. There are rainbow trout between 2 - 15 lbs (1 - 7 Kilos approx), blue trout between 2 -6 lbs (1 - 3 Kilos approx) and brown trout between 1/2 - 5 lbs (up to 2 1/2 Kilos approx). This pool can accommodate up to 6 anglers.

THE TOP POOL is approximately 3 acres in size. Again  it is spring fed with a clay bottom. The average depth is 12 feet (4 Metres) The pool is stocked with rainbow trout up to 15 lbs (up to 7 kilos approx), blue trout between 2 - 6 lbs (1 - 3 Kilos approx) and brown trout up to 5 lbs (up to 2 1/2 Kilos approx) This pool can accommodate up to 20 anglers.

THE NEW POOL was changed from coarse to Trout fishing during April 2007. It is approximately 3 acres in size with 4 sections all linked to form 1 pool. The depth varies between 6 - 7 1/2 feet (2 - 2 1/2 metres approx) on all sections. Each section is netted off to stop the fish moving between the sections, this keeps the stock in each pool. Again this pool is spring fed with  a clay and shale bottom. It is stocked with rainbow trout between 2 - 8 1/2 lbs (1 - 4 Kilos approx) and blue trout from 2 -6 lbs (1 - 3 Kilos approx). This pool can accommodate up to 18 anglers
