FISHERY RULES

Fly and Coarse Fishing Rules apply to ALL ANGLERS AND VISITORS at Onny Vale.
The rules are there to keep the fish stocks healthy, keep the sport of angling good and for your safety.
The rules have not been made to spoil your sport, but improve it.
We want all anglers that use Onny Vale to enjoy themselves and have a good days sport.

FLY FISHING RULES

 

Onny Vale and it's owners accept no responsibility for any injury/accident, loss, damage or theft to any person, vehicle or equipment.

All Anglers/Visitors on Onny Vale property come at their own risk.

All Anglers/Visitors to Onny Vale must wear suitable clothing/footwear for varying weather conditions.

All Anglers/Visitors must get permission from management before walking around the grounds or commencing fishing.

Read all warning signs and take heed of them. They are there to keep you safe.

No vehicles to be parked on the pools.

The management reserve the right to inspect inside any bag, vehicle or check any equipment.

Strictly no wading, float tubes, boats or swimming.

Strictly no fishing over the time limit purchased. (If you  want extra time you can either upgrade to the next ticket price or pay an extra £2 per hour.

Any extra fish required will be charged at £6 per fish.

All fish over 3lbs in size and all brown trout must be returned to the water safely

All anglers on a Fish ticket are allowed to take a fish up  to 3lbs in weight. All brown trout must be returned safely to the water. Anyone who takes a fish over 3lbs in weight must pay a charge of £2.50 per lb for the total weight of that fish.

Do not disturb other anglers by shouting, using foul language, casting over their lines or interfering with their sport.

Pick up your discarded line and litter and take it home with you.

After fishing, fill in the returns book at the lodge, it benefits all. If the lodge is locked, a returns box is at the front of the lodge.

Anyone abusing members of staff, students, management or other customers will  be asked to leave the premises immediately and the police will be called if necessary.

No refunds will be given under any circumstances.

The lowest ticket price is the minimum amount required to commence fishing at Onny Vale.

Anyone found to be damaging property, equipment, fish stocks etc. will be reported to the police.

Anyone removing fish without permission (or payment) will be  immediately reported to the police for theft with the aim of prosecution.

Anyone introducing fish to Onny Vale will be reported to the Environment Agency with the aim of prosecution. The introduction and removal of live fish need section 30 permission and relevant health checks. It is also an offence with regards to not having a movement order.

 


UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES IS ANYONE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE PREMISES WHEN THE GATES ARE LOCKED. THIS WILL BE CLASSED AS TRESPASSING AND THE POLICE WILL BE CALLED.

 









 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

COARSE FISHING RULES

All anglers should read and understand the rules before fishing.

No Tiger Nuts or Nuts.

Do not use towels/cloths or rags to hold fish.

Dip you landing net.

All baits are to be used in moderation (no excessive feeding). This includes fishing with bread, pellet or biscuit.

Any fish to be weighed/photographed must be done quickly and the fish is to be returned gently to the water. (Not thrown in).

No rod sharing, no spinning and no fly fishing.

Onny Vale management and owners accept no responsibility for any injuries/accident/loss damage or theft to any person, vehicle or equipment.

NIGHT FISHING.

All anglers who want to night fish do so under these conditions.

All night fishing must be booked in advance through Dave on 07792 609153.

Night fishing is priced on a 24 hour ticket.

All night fishermen must understand that all gates are locked through the night from dusk till dawn. (Times will be given.)

All cars to be parked in the car park.

All other rules apply to night fishing.

All anglers who book night fishing but who do not turn up will not be allowed to night fish again due to other anglers who would have had a chance to fish.

All night fishing will have designated pegs. There will be a choice of eight places.

CATCH AND RELEASE POLICY

Onny Vale has no problem with Catch and Release tickets purchased, as long as the following conditions are understood and complied with;

Barbless hooks to be used at all times.

The fish must be handled correctly.

The fish must not be unhooked on the bank. (It should be unhooked in the water or net).

If fish have to be handled, then wet your hands first. - Do not use a towel or cloth.

If the fish is deep hooked or the fly cannot be removed, then the fish must be despatched and paid for.

Any fish that is stressed and/or cannot be recovered must be despatched and paid for.

Any fish that is despatched will be charged at the rate of £2.50 per lb.
