Start

It has been a long year since we first visited Onny Vale and, ever since our first visit, this place has been at the tip of my thoughts.

On December 19th 2023, we finally collected the keys and immediately made our way to spend our first night at the fishery.

It was around 10pm when we arrived and a shocking -10°C. Thankfully the heating and hot water in the Lodge had remained on - We did not know yet that this wouldn’t last until the morning.

It was the literally the coldest night that we have ever experienced in the U.K. and we enjoyed crunching around in the frost under a full moon, before sleeping with the dog in a pile of blankets on the floor.

When we woke up the next morning the water and electricity had been turned off.

Time to get to work.
